Katy Mallory & Ares (Swift x Rio) earned their herding championship this weekend at the Buckeye All Breed Herding Association (BAHA) trial at Rosehaeven Farm. I cannot even begin to describe the training, time, and dedication that has gone into this title and to say we are proud of all that Katy & Ares has done would be an understatement. Let’s not forget he has his agility championship too! Please help me in congratulating this AMAZING team!!

It was a fantastic day of agility at the ASSA National! An entire day dedicated to Shelties doing agility with so many Apex Shelties in attendance…What could be better?!

For the 4th consecutive year, Apex is bringing home the award for High In Trial Masters! In addition, Shannon & Sequel won High In Trial Excellent and Abbey & Superstar won High In Trial Novice. We are proud of all the Apex teams in attendance this week and will be rooting on everyone as the national specialty continues this week with other disciplines.

Obi and Swindle are headed to England! After fantastic performances at EOTT, Karissa & Obi (Swift x Shimmee) along with Abbey & Swindle (Swift x Cinco) have been named to the 2024 European Open Team to represent the USA in England next summer! What an achievement for these two amazing teams!!

European Open Finalist

Jennifer and Bee secured their spot in the medium division finals at the European Open held in Denmark after WINNING the individual agility round. In addition, Bee earned a 2nd place round placement in Team Jumping. This was Bees 2nd time attending the EO and 2nd time earning her way into the finals!

Bee is the Premier Cup Champion

At the 4th annual AKC Premier Cup held in Columbus, OH, Bee became the 16" Champion winning the final round after 2 clear preliminary rounds. This is Bee's second time to attend the event and Jennifer's 4th consecutive win of the 16" division.

Apex Shelties at the European Open Tryouts

The United States AKC team tryouts for the 2023 European Open were held in Latrobe, PA. Three Apex shelties attended this event to try out for a coveted spot on the team and ALL THREE were named to the 2023 team!! Congratulations to Daneka & Brite along with Bee and Sting on this incredible accomplishment. These teams will be headed to Denmark in the summer of 2023.

Bee at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge

This past weekend Bee & Jenn traveled to St Louis for the 2022 finals of the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. Bee was the reigning champion in the medium height so was invited back for another year. After a spectacular round 1 run they finished 2nd alongside two great teams. Congratulations Bee on yet another great accomplishment!!

Rio - 2022 AKC Premiere Cup - 2nd place

Congratulations to Rio (NAC MACH Scene Stealer Shak-A New World MXS MJS) and Jenn on their 2nd place finish at the 2022 AKC Premier Cup held in Columbus, OH. This invite only event took place at the Historic Crew Stadium where the top 20 dogs from each jump height were invited to compete at the ESPN televised event.

Bee - 2022 Westminster Masters Agility Champion

Apex Meant To Bee (Swift x Shimmee) wins the 16" class at the 2022 Westminster Kennel Club 9th annual Masters Agility Championship with a time of 29.81 becoming the 1st shetland sheepdog in the history of the event to be awarded the title of Westminster Masters Agility Champion.

Rio - 2022 AKC 12" National Agility Champion

After going 3/3 in the preliminary rounds, Rio ran the finals course in 35.7 seconds to be crowed the 2022 Nationals Champion!

Rio is the first sheltie to win the national title in 6 years.

American Shetland Sheepdog Association National Specialty

Taylor, Rio, and Bee had a great day of agility at the 2022 Sheltie Nationals. The girls brought home 8 first place finishes and Rio earned the Agility Masters High Combines award for 2022 after going 4/4 with all first places in 12" standard, JWW, and both premier classes! Taylor also won both her classes and Bee won 16" standard and premier standard.

We are very proud of these girls and the incredible day they had!

On October 6th, a few days before her due date, Hook delievered 4 healthy puppies without a bit of problem. This litter will be named the Apex “J” litter and is a repeat breeding of Streak x Hook. The sable boy (Jackpot) and thee sable girls (Jalapeño, Jello, and Jammin’) are all doing great!
